This improvisation workshop will examine the role and significance of touch,
and how that will lead us to a creative understanding of partnering in
dance improvisation. Class explorations can be shared in an
informal showing on Sunday.

Using principles of body-mind centering, kinesiology, yoga, and exercise science, learn strategies and exercises that place mindfulness and investigation at the heart of the creative process, culminating in performances that honor the intrinsic value of the body and movement. Explore movement from the inside out, investigating the interplay of the body’s individual components, with a focus on energy conservation and injury prevention. Every class is a complex web of exercises and improvisations that inspire body awareness and help develop an internal, intellectual and kinesthetic image of the human body in motion.Take all or individual classes (day 1: introduction, day 2: level changes, day 3: horizontal locomotion.
Open to everyone/all levels. No experience necessary.
